Discovering that you have value in something you love to do is an awesome feeling. Realizing your worth in a situation, being depended on and appreciated, can be very satisfying.
It provides a sense of accomplishment, especially when it’s to the glory of God—an initiative sent by Him.
We thrive when we learn of God’s love through our talents and strengths. Involving a spiritual as well as a natural sense, we elevate and mature when we know we are just where God wants us to be.
Now, what if things change, and you are no longer in this comfortable place you once knew in this very arena or situation? What do you do? What do you think? Is something wrong?
Before allowing your mind to be filled with fear and doubt, thinking that God has allowed betrayal and turmoil to enter your life, reflect on the faithfulness of God. He has continually been faithful in your life, and this might be an opportunity for you to “listen closer” for His direction. There may be a shift taking place. There is purpose in all we do, great or small, and everything has lasting consequences. Look for the purpose; look for God’s hand and direction to lead you through. Search for what God will say to you in the midst of your situation because there’s always something to learn.
It’s easy to find what situation or person has made you angry or has offended you, but to look beyond yourself and see the bigger scope takes maturity and wisdom. It takes a surrendered heart to the Lord’s will to be able to say, “Lord, not my will, but Your will be done in and through me.”
So, if you’re no longer thriving in that once fruitful place, there must be another assignment on the horizon—whether it be great or small. Considering the righteousness of God and that He is just in all of His ways and in all that He commands, there must be something that we need to be attentive to. There’s a detour that requires our full attention so that God can get the glory.
Remaining optimistic is key. Remaining faithful is paramount to our own growth in the kingdom. Remembering that the Lord will fight our battles, as long as our own heart remains pure, is vital. We are the example to the world that may not know Him, as well as our brothers and sisters in the kingdom of God. We must go forth and lead by example and show others, “When I am chosen, I am faithful; when I am not chosen, I remain faithful. I am who I am by God’s grace.”
