The beginning of a new year is a wonderful time to examine our financial health. <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Would you\u00a0consider yourself to be a debtor? Between your house and your car, how much do you owe? On\u00a0<\/span>credit cards and to Room-to-Go, how much debt do you carry? Do you see yourself as a debtor?<\/span><\/p>

Not just as it relates to CreditKarma.com but how our debt relates to Jesus Christ.<\/p>

The beginning of a new year is also an excellent time to examine our spiritual life. The Apostle\u00a0
Paul saw himself as a debtor. We are not our own; we were bought with a price (1 Cor 6:19-20). Paul saw himself as a debtor to the one who hung on the cross – Jesus Christ.<\/p>

Suppose someone you know was on death row, scheduled to be executed for a capital crime.
Suppose the Governor called you and said,” I\u2019m going to pardon your friend, your co-worker, your neighbor, or your family member.” The governor asks you personally to take the pardon to the prison and give it to the warden because that person has been pardoned. Suppose you took that pardon and placed it in your pocket or in your MK purse and then remembered you had several things to do. Maybe you had to pick up some groceries, pay a bill, or get the hot water heater repaired, and you got busy working on some things. Then maybe someone calls you with an extra ticket to the Magic\/Warriors game, and you go to the game. Then the next morning, you see a tweet or FB post that the person pardoned was just executed. How would you feel, realizing the person that had been pardoned died because you never delivered the message?\u00a0How would you feel?<\/span><\/p>

Yes, salvation is free, and we cannot pay for our salvation (Eph 2:8), but we can become active in our Father\u2019s family business and complete the works God has given us to accomplish. Because of our relationship with Jesus, we are not to be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ because it is the power of God for salvation. We may owe JCPenny, but every believer must become a debtor to Jesus. \u201cJesus paid it all; all to Him, we owe.\u201d<\/p>
